What is the difference between pick up, delivery and shipping?
Order Pickup: Live near a Pressed Juicery®? Order online or on the Pressed® App to collect your order from a local Pressed Juicery® location. Order Delivery: Live near a Pressed Juicery®? Simply select local delivery to receive your order within one hour! Get it Shipped: Not nearby? We’ll ship your order to your doorstep.
Why does it show that a product is unavailable?
Since we craft the fresh products on our menu with seasonal produce, we sometimes stock out. If the selected store, or warehouse for nationwide shipping, is fresh out of some of our products, we will mark the item temporarily unavailable until the retail store or warehouse is fully stocked. If ordering for pickup, you are able to choose another store location and view their inventory to see if they have the desired items in stock at a nearby location.
Why does it show that a product is stocked out?
Since we craft the fresh products on our menu with seasonal produce, we sometimes stock out. If we’re fresh out of some of the products you ordered, we may be experiencing temporary supply shortages of some of our products. Not to worry, the item is not discontinued, it will be back online once the item is back in stock at our warehouse!
How is Pressed Juicery® supporting sustainability?
Not only did we convert our 2oz shot bottles to environmentally friendly 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (or rPET) bottles, but our newly designed 12oz and 15.2oz bottles are now made of 25% rPET. Our transition to rPET will collectively save over 300,000 lbs of plastic annually (that’s a 30% reduction in our use of virgin plastic!). Reducing our use of plastic is just one of the ways we’re working to decrease our environmental impact. We also craft our beverages using 50% imperfect produce, saving 11.5 million pounds of produce that may have ended up in landfills. In addition, we are consistently working to streamline production and limit greenhouse gas emissions. You can read more about our sustainability efforts here.
Why do Pressed Juicery® bottles feel and look different than before?
You might notice that our bottles look a little different and feel lighter than before. Designing a lighter bottle made with a higher percentage of rPET reduced our overall use of virgin plastic. This adjustment reduced the weight of our bottles by 12% without compromising contents and helped us save over 300,000 lbs of virgin plastic annually.
How long is my juice good for?
All Pressed Juicery® juices, shots and waters are printed with Best Buy Dates! Our bottles have an imprint of “Best if Used By MM/DD/YY” on the back of the bottle, underneath the label. If you are buying our products at the grocery store, you’ll find this date on top of the cap!
Where is the juice made?
We proudly make our juices in sunny Central California, home to what we believe to be the highest quality and freshest produce in the country.
How are the juices made?
Each of our juices are cold-pressed using a hydraulic press. The press uses a tremendous amount of pressure to slowly and gently extract the flavor, nutrients, and enzymes from the fresh produce.
Is the juice organic?
Pressed Juicery® is not USDA certified organic. We feel very strongly about using locally sourced & seasonal produce to cold press our juices. By doing this, we are able to keep our juices at an affordable price point. We live by our mission statement; make it simple, make it taste great, make it affordable and make it for everyone.
How do I store juices and shots?
Juices and shots should always stay in a refrigerated environment until you’re ready to enjoy.
Can I freeze my juices?
Yes! However, you will need to remove some of the juice to make room for expansion! If contents are not removed, the bottles may expand and pop open in the freezer.
If a bottle is bloated, is it safe to consume?
No! If you receive a bloated bottle, please do not consume it as the product may have spoiled.
How many Calories are in your juices?
At Pressed Juicery®, we have a wide range of products where you’ll find something that meets your needs. We have lower calorie options such as Greens 1 and Roots 1, and denser options such as Vanilla or Chocolate Almond. You can find all nutritional information on our individual product pages. Simply click the desired juice on the shop page to view their nutritional information.
How much produce is used to make one juice?
Up to four pounds of produce!
Are there any added sugars?
No! There are no added sugars in our juices except for those sweetened by agave, which you will see on our front & back labels!
What type of monk fruit is used?
We use a Monk Fruit Sweetener. Which is a blend of Monk Fruit Extract and Erythritol. Erythritol is a low-calorie sweetener and sugar alcohol. A very small amount of Monk Fruit, a sweet Asian melon, provides a ton of sweetness.
Why does the Strawberry Basil Lemonade have a high carb count?
Strawberry Basil Lemonade is sweetened with a Monk Fruit Sweetener. It provides sweetness, but does not get readily absorbed by the body as sugar. Monk Fruit and Erythritol have carbohydrates that do not break down into simple sugars in the body and so do not contribute to the sugar value in the nutritional facts. Like fiber, these carbohydrates don't break down in the body but flow through the digestive system. When calculating net carbohydrates, many people subtract fiber and Sugar Alcohol from the Total Carbohydrates to get a Net Carbohydrate value.
I have a nut allergy, is it safe for me to drink?
If you have a tree nut allergy we do encourage that you do not consume our product. Our facility does process tree nuts (almonds and coconut).
What form or type of processed aloe is used to make the Aloe H2O?
We use an Aloe Vera Juice Powder which is derived from the organically grown leaves of the aloe vera plant!
Why do the juices have different colors and tastes from time to time?
Just like the produce you buy has natural variations, so do our juices! Tastes and colors may vary due to natural variations in the produce due to season!.
What causes the color change of Citrus 2?
Due to the seasonality and freshness of our produce, sometimes the color of Citrus 2 is bright yellow and other times more golden brown. Apple is very sensitive and changes color rapidly. This does not affect the food safety or taste of the product, only the color is affected!
What is Chlorophyll H2O made from?
The chlorophyll we use in our Chlorophyll Hydration Shot is extracted from mulberry leaves!
Is the juice pasteurized?
Only our Almond Signature Blends go through a heat pasteurization process. All other Pressed® Juices go through a process called HPP(High Pressure Processing)
What is HPP?
HPP stands for High Pressure Processing, which is designed to keep our product safe. We HPP because it helps the product maintain the highest nutrient density and minimally impacts vitamins, antioxidants and nutrition. HPP takes a bottle of juice through a cold chamber of water and applies large pressure to it, high enough to inactivate potential harmful pathogens.
Are your products safe to consume while pregnant?
Please consult your physician! We use a process called HPP, however, our juices are not pasteurized.
Is the juice Kosher?
Yes! Pressed Juicery® is certified by the OU when sealed and bears the OU symbol.
Is sediment/separation normal?
The sediment is a natural occurrence seen in the juices. We recommend shaking the juice in order to shake away separation!
Why do you not use glass bottles?
We use a process called HPP to eliminate any harmful bacteria from our product. This process requires significant force on the bottle which glass cannot sustain. Any juice that comes in a glass bottle has either been heat-treated or is made on-site.
Are the bottles BPA free?
Yes, all bottles are BPA free.
Do you recycle?
Yes, we recycle our bottles and recommend that you do as well! We also recycle the byproduct from our juices which gets sent out for compost and in 2020, we reduced the use of virgin plastic. Not only did we convert our 2oz shot bottles to environmentally friendly 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (or rPET) bottles, but we converted our 15oz premium waters to 2oz rPET shot bottles as well. This effort saved over 15,500lbs of plastic annually.
Why does the Simple Cleanse have so many carbohydrates when the bottle only has 30 calories?
Our Simple Cleanse is sweetened with Allulose, which contributes to the high number of carbs listed on the nutrition label. Allulose is a nearly calorie-free, naturally occurring sugar (ours is derived from non-GMO corn) that researchers have found has no impact on glucose levels and has approximately 1/10th the calories of sugar. However, Allulose must be labeled as a carb based on FDA requirements despite the fact that it does not contribute to the total number of calories listed.
How much caffeine is in the Vanilla Coffee smoothie?
Around 95mg of caffeine per bottle.
How much caffeine is derived from the Matcha in the Avocado Greens Smoothie?
The caffeine content is very low. Less than 11mg per bottle.
Why is the carb count high for the Vanilla Coffee Protein and Chocolate Banana Smoothies?
Both the Vanilla Coffee Protein and Chocolate Banana Smoothies are sweetened with Monk Fruit Sweetener which provides sweetness but does not get readily absorbed by the body as sugar. Monk Fruit and Erythritol have carbohydrates that do not break down into simple sugars in the body and so do not contribute to the sugar value in the nutritional facts. Like fiber, these carbohydrates don’t break down in the body but flow through the digestive system. When calculating net carbohydrates, many people subtract fiber and Sugar Alcohol from the Total Carbohydrates to get a Net Carbohydrate value. The Net Carbohydrate value can then be used to calculate the approximate caloric value using the 4-4-9 method.
Are the Smoothies Gluten Free?
Yes!
Can Smoothie Bowls be customized online?
Not at this time!
Is Freeze Vegan?
Yes! Freeze is plant based.
Is Freeze nut free?
No! Freeze is made with Almonds.
Are there any added sugars in Freeze?
Our Vanilla & Chocolate Freeze do not have any added sugar, and our acai flavor is sweetened with maple syrup and monk fruit.
Is Freeze Kosher?
Freeze is Kosher certified when it is created in our facility. However, it loses certification once the Freeze is dispensed into the soft serve machine.
How is the Freeze made?
Pressed® Freeze is made with locally sourced ingredients and is completely plant-based! We use whole almonds sourced from California’s Central Valley and dates grown in Southern California. Both plant-powered ingredients are blended with water and other natural ingredients to create a soft serve base with no dairy, no refined sugar, no stabilizers, and no gums.
Why is the carbohydrate content in the Freeze so high?
Carbohydrates in the freeze products are higher because you need a higher sugar content to get it to freeze without artificial ingredients.
Are Freeze toppings Vegan?
Yes! Majority of them are, however, the chocolate drizzle and honey are not vegan.
Can I order Freeze online?
Yes! You can now order Freeze online for local delivery or in-store pickup! Please note, Freeze cannot be shipped.
How many days should I cleanse?
The length of your cleanse depends on your individual needs. Cleansing for five days is a deeper, more intense experience than cleansing for three days. It's up to you and a healthcare professional to evaluate what works best for you and your body. You always want to plan your cleanse for a period of time when you have some flexibility in your schedule and can make your body your top priority. Of course, you can always customize the program to last longer than five days if you so desire. Listen to your body. If you are inexperienced, we recommend starting with our Cleanse 1 program for three days. You can always move upin your level if you wish. **We do not recommend cleansing more than twice a month.
How does a cleanse work?
Although everyone is different and must consider the needs of their body as they cleanse, Pressed Juicery®’s juice plan recommends drinking 6, 15.2 ounce juice drinks per day, drinking each beverage every two hours. Drink the first juice when you wake upin the morning, and try to drink the last juice two hours before going to bed. Juice cleansing is intended to replace solid meals, though again everyone is different and should consume food, water and juice as needed. Be prepared for changes in your digestion, energy levels and even sleep rhythms as your body adjusts to the cleanse. Also, make sure you stay hydrated with water throughout your cleanse. Find more detailed guides and information on juice cleanses here.
What are the benefits of cleansing?
Refresh and recharge by replenishing your body with juices while gaining a better understanding of your habits and nutritional patterns. Detox your system by eliminating toxins from your body. Nourish your body with vitamins and minerals that support your overall health and help you feel your best. Rich in antioxidants and entirely plant-based, our cleanses are designed to help you feel your best getting the nutrients you need.
Does cleansing help with weight loss?
Juicing and juice cleanse diets are often used by athletes and health and wellness-minded individuals alike to get more focused and prepare their bodies for their workload. Cleanses reduce your daily calorie intake and may improve overall health. Though, of course, weight loss is a complex, long-term process. If you’re hoping to lose weight, you should always consult with a doctor before embarking on a meal replacement or fasting diet.
Do I need to drink water?
Yes! You need to drink water in addition to your juices to stay hydrated. Try our chlorophyll or aloe vera waters for an extra boost in hydration as you cleanse, or just stick to plain old water (H2O is the elixir of life!).
Can I drink coffee or tea?
We don’t recommend consuming caffeine during your cleanse (herbal teas are preferable), but we understand that coffee might be a part of your everyday routine. If you’d like to keep coffee as a part of your daily routine while you’re cleansing, that’s ok!
What is cleansing?
Our juice cleanses are designed to help your body hit the reset button, both physically and mentally. Cleansing is not about food deprivation or intended to be a weight loss solution. While cleansing, our juices work to keep you energized and nutritionally satisfied throughout your busy day. We believe that the real benefit of cleansing is the change in mindset post-cleanse. For many of our guests, completing a cleanse is the first step towards making healthier choices and adopting a more positive relationship with wellness.
Is it true that our bodies are capable of cleansing naturally?
It is definitely true to say that our bodies cleanse naturally and constantly. We like to think of our cleanse programs as an occasional way to take a breather from hectic day-to-day routines and streamline your nutrition. Historically, cleansing was a way to bring balance back into one’s life. Our cleanses are designed to help yourbody reset, replenish key nutrients and achieve a more balanced state.
Who should cleanse?
Our cleanses are designed for adults over the age of 18. Whether you’re stressed out, a workaholic or a stay-at-home mom, many of us struggle to find time for ourselves and often our health suffers as a result. Pressed Juicery® cleanse programs are designed for adults looking to bring their wellness back in balance (this includes those who are lactose-intolerant, vegetarian or maintain a gluten-free diet).
Who should not cleanse?
Our cleanse programs are not recommended for those who are under the age of 18, pregnant, breastfeeding, or suffer from certain medical conditions. Consult your healthcare provider before starting a cleanse program if you have a medical condition or take any medications.
Is it safe for someone whose immune system is compromised?
We recommend that you consult with your physician.
What if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not restrict your diet to liquids, as you need extra calories and nutrients throughout your day. We encourage you to consult with your healthcare professional to ensure if our juices are right for you.
Will I really be able to handle a cleanse?
While committing to a cleanse program requires a level of dedication, it is not designed in any way to starve you. The goal of the cleanse is to fuel your body with highly nutritious liquids. At Pressed Juicery®, our programs are perfectly workable with your daily schedule. If at any point you find yourself needing a bit more nourishment while cleansing, read our “During” the cleanse section in our guide for additional tips. Believe in yourself. Although this is a departure from your usual routine, you will be thankful you did it. And don't forget that you can always call or email us for support.
What should I do to prepare for my cleanse?
Around two to three days before the beginning of your fast, try to reduce consumption of caffeine, processed foods, added sugars, and alcohol to help ease you into your cleanse program.
How do I break my cleanse?
First things first, give yourself a pat on the back. You did it! You should feel a huge sense of accomplishment. Now it’s about maximizing the benefits and effectiveness of your hard work. Easing off of your cleanse is just as important as easing into the process. For tips on breaking your cleanse, please refer to our cleanse guide here. Direct link: https://pressedjuicery.com/pages/cleanse-guide
What should I do if I get hungry during my cleanse?
Eat something! We always think you should listen to your body. Drink a cup of warm, plant-based broth or eat a handful of almonds to helptide you over.
Can I add extra beverages to my cleanse like tea, flavored water or sparkling water?
You are more than welcome to incorporate additional beverages into your cleanse if you’re craving extra hydration, but make sure to make healthy choices. Stay away from carbonated drinks, especially soda or other highly-sugared juices. We recommend choosing water with lemon or herbal teas. And if you would like to order extra juices from our site to keep on hand for emergencies, feel free to go ahead and do so.
Can I exercise while cleansing?
Definitely, but do be gentle with yourself. You are still getting nutrition, but it is wise to pay attention to how you feel considering you are consuming a lower volume of food. You will most likely find that you have lots of energy and if you so desire, go for a light jog or power walk around the neighborhood. Otherwise we suggest getting some movement with yoga or pilates.
When should I take a shot to best enhance my cleanse?
Adding our shots to your cleanse program can helpmaximize nutrients and hydration. If you choose to add a shot to your plan, you are welcome to take your shot at any point during the day when you’re craving a boost while cleansing. Just add to 32oz of water or enjoy on its own.
