FAQ

What is Natural Wine?
Natural Wine is farmed organically (biodynamically, using permaculture or the like) and made (or rather transformed) without adding or removing anything in the cellar . No additives or processing aids are used, and ‘intervention’ in the naturally occurring fermentation process is kept to a minimum. As such neither fining nor (tight) filtration are used. The result is a living wine – wholesome and full of naturally occurring microbiology. (Description from Raw Wine ).
Where are you located? Is there parking?
We are pleased to be a part of the Brookland community of Northeast Washington, DC . From the Brookland/Catholic U metro station you can walk to us in about 10 minutes. The H8 bus drops you off right at our front door.If you drive, there is plenty of parking available around us on 12th or Hamlin streets, much of which is unzoned or 2 hours free.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are strongly recommended but not required for our dining room. We never reserve our bar or patio, those options are always first-come, first-serve and offer the full menu (plus happy hour specials at the bar!). Reservations are through RESY . For parties of 10-20, we offer a family style menu priced per person. Please contact our Events Team more than 2 weeks in advance to reserve. For larger event planning and information, please contact Events Team more than 30 days in advance. If you already have a reservation, please note that increasing your party size may not be possible. Should your party size decrease last minute, please allow us time to adjust your table accordingly. We hold reservations for 15 minutes - please call us if you are running late.
How do I purchase a gift card?
You can do so through GiftRocker .
Wait a minute. Did you say, Happy hour?
Yep! Every Monday - Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 at the bar - we offer wine, cocktail, and beer specials as well as discounts on some of our most popular dishes.
Do you have a dress code?
Nope, casual is fine!
Do you offer food togo?
Please call for orders.
Can I bring in a bottle of wine or dessert?
We encourage you to join us in our exploration of truly unique Natural wines, but if you would like to bring in your own, we incur a $40 corkage fee per bottle, up to 4 bottles. If you would like to host a tasting of your special vintages, we can arrange a minimum spend to go along with the tasting, or if you have more than 2 bottles. Please email primrose@primrosedc.com for more info and save us a glass!
I hear you hold some great events! How can I be sure to not miss out?

I have a dietary restriction. Can you accommodate?
We try our best to work with customers who have dietary restrictions. Due to the nature of French cuisine, it is difficult to accommodate dairy or gluten allergies. Please contact the restaurant to speak with a manager before you dine.
