So, what exactly is a cat cafe?
We're glad you asked! A cat cafe is a place where you can hang out with adoptable felines, sip on your favorite beverage, and snack on a yummy pastry.
Um...ew. Do you make any of the food in-house?
Nope! We serve pre-packaged snacks and goodies so there’s never a chance of finding a cat hair in your muffin. Also, because the kitties live in a separate room from where the food and beverages are being served, the health department is totally cool with our concept!
Do you HAVE to have a reservation to visit?
Nope, not necessarily! Reservations to visit the cafe are highly recommended , not required. However, because we only allow a small number of people into our cat lounge at a time, we cannot accept walk-in visitors when we are at maximum capacity .
How much does it cost to visit?
A one hour visit to the cafe is $17 per person. Every visit includes one complimentary non-alcoholic beverage of your choice and an hour to spend with our adoptable rescue cats. Beer and wine is available for an additional fee.
Do you seriously charge to pet cats? Really?
The short answer? Yes - yes we do. However, if we didn't charge an hourly rate, we wouldn't be able to keep a roof over our kitties' heads OR supply them with the premium Fancy Feast that they deserve. And that makes us sad.
Do you have an age policy?
Yes, in order to ensure the safety of our cats as well as your tiny hoomans, the minimum age for visiting the cafe is 12 years old. Anyone ages 12-15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
When is the best time to visit the cafe?
The most prime time kitty action occurs early in the day and late at night, so your best bet for interacting with playful and active cats is during our first reservation hour of the day or the last reservation period of the night. Weekends are our busiest times, so if you don't want to share your kitty snuggles, we would recommend visiting any time Monday through Thursday!
Where do the cats go overnight?
The cats sleep in the cafe! You can usually find them curled up in our front windows or on their favorite beds. Pounce acts similarly to a large foster home for our kitties, so they are never caged or crated.
Where do all of the cats come from??
In Charleston, all of the cats are provided by Charleston Animal Society ! We act as a big foster home for them, and we usually care for 15 to 20 of their adoptable cats at any given time.
I found a stray cat! Can I bring it to you guys?
Unfortunately, no. Because we are not a shelter or a rescue, we cannot take cats in directly at the cafe. In addition to strays, we also cannot accept any owner surrendered animals at our cafes.
