Electric Quill Tattoos

Opened in May of 2022, Electric Quill is a quickly-growing collective of tattoo artists in the heart of downtown Springfield, Illinois. ​ We are led by artist Steve Lima, a Massachusetts native and US Marine Veteran with nearly two decades of tattooing experience here in Springfield, joined by his daughter, Elise, and a group of talented artists of varied expressions. Our staff is mainly women, and we pride ourselves on being community-oriented, compassionate, and body-positive. Our goal with Electric Quill is to shed the stigma associated with old tattoo studios and to cultivate a no-bullshit space for supporting our local creatives, as well as to emerge as a leading studio space for safe, beautiful, lasting tattoo work. We work comfortably in a variety of different styles of tattooing, and are always expanding on our skills! Consider us like a hybrid studio, where we take the respect for the craft and technical precision of street shops and mix it with the more relaxed vibe and softer edges of a private studio space without losing our sass. Basically, we're just your local art kids all grown up (kinda) and hanging with our friends. We hope to create a space that's comfortable for tattoo veterans, newbies, and everyone in between.
