Why get a bike fit?
Among other reasons, a bike properly fit to the rider can increase comfort, help avoid injuries, assist in injury recovery and improve performance. Every bike purchase at Shenandoah Bicycle Company includes a basic bicycle fitting free-of-charge. We will select the right size bike for you, watch you ride the bike, and make any needed adjustments within the workable range of the frame size. These adjustment can include seat height and fore/aft adjustment, handlebar height, and fine-tuning all controls on the handlebar. No matter what bike you take home, we’ll make sure you are comfortable and ready to tackle the rides ahead.
What is a custom bike build?
A customized bicycle is built from the frame up. It doesn’t come from a box pre-packaged with stock components and it’s not built around the ‘average’ person’s body or preferences.
What if I am coming from out of town?
Many of our customers are traveling an hour or more for our quality service work. We are happy to schedule a repair so you can go home the same day with your freshly serviced bike. Call or email to schedule and appointment.
Do I need to call before I bring my bike in?
No, you do not need to call unless you want to schedule a same service day appointment.
I have a certain bike that is unusual or unique, can you do repairs on it?
We do repairs on all brands and styles of bike regardless of the age, new to antique. With over 100 years of service experience our team is happy to tackle any unique project you have.
Do you offer pick up/delivery service?
Yes, we offer pick up and delivery service on repairs and new bikes. Fees depend on distance from the shop. Call us for more information
How much will it cost to fix my bike?
We can only give an accurate repair cost after we have evaluated the bike in person. We offer on the spot flat repairs for $12 ( excluding parts) and basic service packages from $30 and up. Estimates are always FREE!
How long does it take to get a bike repaired?
Minor repairs like tube/tire changes we can usually do on the spot. We do offer 24 hour turnaround time on most repairs (part ordering can delay some repairs). Our goal is to get your repair done to fit your schedule and bike riding needs. We do offer appointments for same day service on most repairs. Call or email to schedule an appointment.
Do you work on electric bikes?
Yes, we work on electric bikes but not all wiring systems. We will only store batteries overnight if they are certified to national and international standards — including UL 2849 and the European standard, EN 15194.
