How to calculate it

Worker-hours = area ÷ washing pace + setup hours × workers. Price = (labor + supplies + travel + overhead) ÷ (1 − margin ÷ 100 − fee ÷ 100)

A worked example

A 1,200-square-foot driveway at an illustrative 600 square feet per worker-hour needs two washing hours. Add half an hour of setup for one worker at $25, plus $15 supplies, $10 travel, and $20 overhead. The $107.50 cost needs a $149.31 quote at a 25% margin and 3% fee, about $0.12 per square foot.

Quote the surface you will actually wash

Measure driveways, patios, paths, or walls separately. A flat driveway and a delicate exterior can need different methods, time, and supplies. For a mixed job, calculate each surface with its own pace, then combine the costs before applying your margin and fee.

Include the time before and after washing

Unloading, connecting hoses, protecting nearby items, treating stains, and packing up all use paid time. The setup field adds the entered hours for every worker. If only one worker handles setup, divide those worker-hours across the crew or calculate that work separately.

Check your minimum job price

Small areas still need a trip and setup. Enter those costs even when the washing itself takes only a few minutes. Allocate equipment rental or wear to overhead. The price per square foot describes this particular quote and should not become a flat rate for every surface.

Pressure washing pricing questions

How do I calculate a pressure washing price per square foot?
Calculate a full job price that covers labor, supplies, travel, overhead, profit, and payment fees, then divide by the washed area. This tool shows both amounts. The example is cost-based arithmetic, not a local market rate.
Can I use this to quote soft washing or house washing?
Yes, if you enter the actual surface area, pace, and costs for that method. Floor area is not exterior wall area. Different materials and access can change the time required, so inspect the scope before quoting.
Where do I include chemicals and equipment rental?
Put chemicals and other consumed materials under supplies. Put the portion of rental, equipment wear, insurance, and fixed expenses assigned to this job under overhead. Count each expense once.
